Presentation Overview

The presentations are done. It was pretty interesting to see how different peoples presentations were. It was set up in a presentation room where there were rows of posters where people would stand by their poster and talk to everyone about them. Kind of had an open house feel to it. Also, while we were walking around talking to people, we had to tweet on our Twitters about what we found interesting and what our favorite projects were. It was pretty interesting to see the commentary coming up on a monitor while this open house was going on. It gave people instant feedback about how they were doing. Kind of cool but it was also kind of distracting at the same time.

Emerging Technologies Project

So we have a project to do in our COM 425 class about an emerging technology. We have to find one and then make a poster that explains how the technology works and how it will impact the world. I have been looking around for one to do my presentation on but I have been struggling. I was looking at Gizmag.com and found something about a parachute system that allows military parachuters to glide for up to 25 miles which makes it safer for them to drop in enemy territory. I think I might do that. Not sure though.
